Gay Pareeee

In Easter Nadia and I headed to Paris. It had been hyped up by a lot of people and I am pleased to report that it lived up to all expectations. There is so much to see and do and the food is AMAZING! I suspect that this trip to Paris wont be our last.

Above- Nadia and I take in the views from atop the Arc de triomphe including the Eiffel tower.

Above- Hotel des Invalides-Originally used to house wounded soldiers during the war it is now home to war memorabila and Napoleon's tomb. Above- Napoleons Tomb.

Above- Moulin Rouge

Above- Sacre-Ceur de Montmartre (Sacred Heart Basilica) built in 1875, is one of the most photgraphed things in Paris, 2nd only to the Eiffel tower.

Above- Notre Dame Cathedral.

Above left- The winged victory of Samothrace.
Above Centre- The famous pyramid which houses the Louvre- the biggest museum in the world- It must have been big as we spent well over half a day there and still did not see all the wings
Above right- The famous Mona Lisa- what the picture does not show you is the other 1000 people packed into a small room trying to get a look at the great painting.

Above left the Effiel tower at night and to the right with Nadia. The tour de Effiel is an impressive sight, the cues to get up however are not so great.

Brussells Belgium- Mussels, Beer, Chocolate & Chips

The title says it all. Brussels is not exactly the jewel in Europes crown, but did serve as an interesting weekend away in early March.

Above- The world famous Manneken pis (yes a statue of a little boy doing wees). This picture actually does this statue too much justice beacuse seeing it in person is even less spectacular. I read an article that said that this was in the top 10 of over rated tourist sites in the world! It is definately a must do though.

Whilst New Zealand was basking in one of its hottest summers of all time, Nadia and I were freezing in Belgium, hence why we took solus in the chocolate in Cholcolopolis.

Above- In the 6+ years that Nadia and I have been together I have rarely seen her happier than the day she discovered Chocopolis a heaven for chocolate lovers.

Above- Much more my style mussells, chips and beer.

Above- If I look cold in this photo, there is a reason- because I am because its freezing outside.

Above- A real Belgium Beer house

Above- The Atomium, originally built for the World fair in 1958.

Above- Nadia poses with a giant cat on a bicycle.

Above-The Grand Palace. Apparently the flag only flies when royalty is in- I guess they knew we were coming.
