We were supposed to be away with the in-laws but unfortunately due to the volcanic ash disruption they were unable to leave New Zealand. We decided to still head to the Cotswolds anyway as we had never been & as it is only about an 1hr and 40 minute drive from St Albans. The Cotswolds is an area that runs from Stratford to Bath and is quintessentially what the best of what you would think rural England was i.e. rolling hills, yellow stone quaint cottages. We stayed in a cottage at Stow in the wold.

On Saturday we decided to complete one of the many recommended walks. You are able to wonder through farms with no problem and pass many other walkers along the way.
Nadia stands on the Cotswolds Way. We saw a red royal mail delivery man on this road and Nadia made the comment that it looked like Postman Pats van. We were delighted to see that on his dashboard he had a stuffed black and white cat so clearly the similarity was not lost on him!
